WordPress Post Formats

Hello and welcome to this quick video which takes a look at the various Post Formats in WordPress. By doing this, it will enable you to create specific types of Posts, each one with its own unique style. In the previous video I showed you how to create a post in WordPress. There are lots of different post formats, which enable you to create all kinds of different posts with their own style.

Most of the time you’ll be creating a Standard post, which has a title and content.

You have all these different styles to use, which you can find under Format. Posts styles can be images, videos, links, a gallery, audio, as well as many others. Selecting one of these automatically changes the style of the post

Note: It’s possible the theme you’re using doesn’t support individual post formats, so you may not see this format box at all. However, most themes offer a few basic format styles, so you can play around with the options.

Post formats will determine how the post looks on your website. Each style has a unique appearance! If you don’t want to use these styles or you just want to use standard posts for your blog, you can hide this format box by clicking on Screen Options and un-clicking Format. You can always re-enable it anytime.

Now that you’ve learnt how to style individual posts, carry on learning how to leverage your Website with our next videos coming up! I hope you’ve enjoyed this video. And, if you did, please give it a quick like and share it with friends. Thank you and see you in the next video!
